Meet The Indian Whistlers!
Most of us whistle casually at times but some enthusiasts practice it for hours to hone their art of whistling. Meet such musical artists at Indian Whistlers’ Association where members as old as ten years and as young as seventy five years share their passion for whistling.
The association was formed in 2004 by Rigveda Deshpandey, inspired by the members of an international group – Orawhistle. He was eighteen then. While meeting several potential whistlers, he came across Mr. Jagat Tarkas, sixty year old businessman from Chennai who had passion for music but could not pursue his interest in early years. Today, Rigveda, Mr. Jagat and 360 members are working together to help bathroom whistlers realize their talent.
On June 18, 2006, the group pulled off their first whistling show in Chennai, entertaining five hundred attendees. The debut’s success demanded another show in Bangalore. This was just the beginning. Soon they performed across India and mesmerized audiences with their musical talent. Last month, the association showcased their art for Limca Book of Records – largest gathering of whistlers in India, whistling in unison. The audience watched in amazement as a group of forty-eight whistlers whistled “Sare jahan se achha, Hindustan hamara”. They have also conducted an exclusive women’s whistling show with live orchestra.
The association promotes “No Smoking” actively and donates all proceeds from their concerts to charities. To know more about their achievements and to listen to their recordings, visit Indian Whistlers’ Association Yahoo! Group and be a part of this musical journey.

OK, OK! Whistling is whistling There are other Indian egroups that could do desperately with publicity.I have this group that started because of uninformed people were taking home fish in a bag and a glass tank and killing those innocent creatures. If you want to play GOD then do it right.. There are many other groups.
